Hosted by Michal Antonivich accompanied by Kaio Moraes
Embody yoga in service of peace and liberation.
— International Yoga Day, June 21st —
Join hundreds of people around the world who move and breathe on that day with a shared intention: to take collective action toward justice and peace.
We will gather for a special yoga & live sound class guided by yoga teacher and cultural peace activist Michal Antonovich, accompanied by esteemed violinist Kaio Moraes in solidarity with and support of Al Jawad Camp in Gaza. 100% of proceeds will be donated directly to the camp.
Al Jawad Camp provides a safe space for displaced children to continue their education, engage in creative activities such as art and yoga, and receive emotional support from a psychologist. Donations will go toward essential food and other urgently needed supplies.
What to expect:
Expect a grounding Yang to Yin flow & musical meditation class, open to all levels. Inspired by the concept of Tikkun Olam — a Jewish ethical tradition that invites us to take part in the repair of what is broken, both in the world and within ourselves — we ask:
• What does it mean to move as prayer for peace and justice?
The Yin portion of the class will be accompanied by the mesmerizing sounds of the violin by Kaio - you will embark on a journey inwards and dwell in that magical space in which you are able to listen to the voice that speaks through silence.
Program:
16.00 - 16.30 Arriving & welcome wellness drink from JAMU
16.30 - 16.45 Introduction
16.45 - 17.45 Yoga class + violin
17.45 - 18.00 Closing
